However, the current situation brought along time to slow down, to mull things over. Is it time to change career?

So, there comes a day when you wake up just to realizthat you really dont want to get on with work and go to the office. Is it the people or your work? Maybe you are  completely fed up with the décor in the office? For a brief moment, you would even consider changing your career. Probably not. If you feel that way, the first thing to do is pause and identify what really is at the bottom of feeling like this.

Human beings are capable of a lot more than they think they are. Their likes and dislikes lie in many places, half of which are left undiscovered. Similarly, when we talk about the aspect of job and career, the choices are unlimited. An engineer may find that the best use of their capabilities is when a city has to deal with flooding, or a doctor may suddenly find the fashion industry very appealing to create a niche for herself.

To uncover the area of interest, it is important to undergo career change and job change. Career change opens many new doors for us. It introduces us to subject matters which we may have never heard of before but have our best interests in it. Furthermore, it widens our pool of knowledge.

As exciting as it may sound, career change is not an easy route to take. It calls for a lot of thought. A quite a bit of time is invested in knowing what is best for us. Our lives and within it, our belongings and the things we got used to as part of our lifestyle are at stake.
There are always implications being attached to our decisions. Things may not always go in the same direction wed like them to go.

Best time to change career or change job

While taking such a big step, it helps to research the options well and have a thorough think about the potential scenarios. You should know the pros, cons, and implications of your decision. Nothing should be done hastily. Here are a few instances when you should change your career and when you should change your job.

  • When your goals have changed, and you don’t find it exciting to get up for your work any longer. You keep on running away from your job and find yourself procrastinating more than ever. In the end, you may leave everything to the last minute and lack enthusiasm.
  • Your values or vision does not resonate with the values or envisioned future of your workplace. Things keep on changing for the worse around you, making you uncomfortable and difficult for others to work with you, or the other way around makes it challenging for you to work with your colleagues.
  • The beliefs or values of your colleagues create distance between you instead of bringing you together. You face recurring confrontations, and you find it difficult to put forward your views.
  • There is no long-term growth expected in the job, so you find your motivation gradually diminishing
  • Loss of excitement may also happen when the work lacks innovation or development.
  • With your priorities changingyou want to explore new fields of work. It could be a lowpaying job, a start-up, or anything new which may not yield the best resultfor you in the beginning, but you cannot keep yourself away from it.

Conclusion

A specific job, your entire career, or a chosen profession have us dedicate a large chunk of our lives. It is the source of our livelihood, and it shapes our future and helps us develop as human beings. It would help if you dedicated the attention, so it is not to be in vain. You have to consider your options carefully and with due thorough planning. Change can be difficult. Still, the journey to your growth and development will make it worth your efforts in the long run!

5 Tips to Help You Be More Successful

Success

Hunger for success is natural and is in everyone. There isn’t a more uplifting feeling than when you accomplish your goals through hard work and discover your true self. Everyone wants to be more successful, but what is a success?

Although success can be well–defined, based on the experience with our clients, it means something different to everyone. There are those who feel content in possession of lots of money. Those who own and run a business – which is what brings them joy. Some people are dedicated to personal and professional development and there are also those whose 1st priority is family – and others to whom it’s caritative work.

All work for success, all in their own ways, some following their passion and others in need of a little uplifting now and then.

But what ways are there to be more successful? Here are 5 tips for you to help you be on the path of joy and success.

Find out what success means to you.

I am sure you heard that people who follow their passion are happier and more successful. In some sense, it is true, even though passion is only one component to success. So, as a start,  find out what makes you feel happy. As soon as you have a goal, you can create the plans yourself – if you really want it.

Then find what you like to spend time doing and what you are good at.

When you do something with all your heart and soul, you are moving huge energies and can achieve extraordinary things. This energy will automatically help you concentrate on creating experiences that move you forward and ease the progress to a great extent. Without a shadow of a doubt, you will be able to mobilize your energies and turn your ideas into actions.

We all know though, that passion paired with excellence is what makes a difference, and to make an impact you need to have and utilize the right skills.

When you are tuned into success and positive about the future, you rarely consider that success always comes at a price. Expect surprises and be open to making sacrifices.

Depending on what success means to you and what you want to achieve or what your goals are, – you must expect to make sacrifices. We often say the best things in life are free, but everything comes at a price.  If you want to spend more time with the family, you must make the time for it. If you want to progress in your career, you must invest in yourself. Do you want to start a business? You need funds, new skills, and time. Perhaps,  you need to save money for months or even years to start your business.

With all the learning, the extra efforts, and the work invested in, you might find that you have even less free time. The good news is that everything is temporary. I am sure you heard the phrase ‘This too shall pass’. Once you reap the fruits of your labor, you will see the sacrifice was worth it.

Surround yourself with people smarter than you.

There are only a few people in the world from who you couldn’t learn something good and new. On the way to success, you will come across and work with a lot of people. They all help you towards your goal in one way or another. Don’t be afraid to share, ask for help, or cooperate.

Never give up!

One of the keys to success is that we do not surrender when faced with obstacles. It is one thing, of course, to know the way how to overcome the obstacles ahead, and another to implement the solution.

Many people become uncertain and hesitant when one small inconvenience arises and lose the strength to start over.

Don’t be like them. Adopt a problem–solving attitude and concentrate on finding solutions, not excuses. If you do so, not only your work will be fruitful, but others will also recognize and appreciate the results. Not to mention the lessons that will enrich your life and increase your self-confidence.

You also need to understand that you are in the driving seat and hold the key to your life.

Even if you believe there are a magical influence, other people, fatal powers, or coincidences that prevent you from achieving your goals, you will always have a choice and a solution, you just need to find it.

Many people don’t accomplish their goals because they are not willing to take the necessary steps, not because they are not capable enough.

The accomplishment of your life goals may somewhat depend on luck and talent, or on your relationships, or other factors. But it definitely depends on how you handle the above-mentioned factors.

Let the challenges be the reason why you can progress and succeed, when others may hide behind those as they fail. This is how simple it is to stand out and achieve all you want.

9 ways to improve your self-discipline article cover image

When successful people talk about the secrets of their progress in life they highlight the importance of self-discipline. Whether it is a success they achieved in their professional lives or in their personal lives, maybe both, their inherent ability for self-control through discipline was one of the key levers of their success.

They have been able to keep their thoughts, emotions and behaviours in check, which paired with an optimistic view and positive affirmations can be very powerful tools to achieve continuous development. Staying focused may be difficult sometimes, there will be better days, and on other days you may find it trying to go on. A good way to stay motivated is by using a personal reward system to make you want to stay disciplined. Some people find it helpful to have a friend that motivates them and keeps them on track. Meditation can help to clear your head at the beginning of your day. You also want to set yourself up with a schedule that will help you stay organized. Sometimes it is difficult to maintain your self-discipline. Here are some ideas to help you improve it.

Improving your self-discipline is vital to achieving any goal. Without it, it is difficult to avoid temptation. The essentials of discipline are routine and dedication. The following tips are to help you improve your self-discipline.

Maintaining a routine.

Most of what we do day by day is habit driven, it is not difficult to create a routine so you can stay focussed and have the discipline to accomplish your goal. You can put yourself on a daily routine by getting a planner and creating a daily schedule for yourself. When you know day to day what you need to do to accomplish your goal, it makes it easier to achieve it and it becomes more obtainable. You will want to keep your appointments in this planner so you know exactly where you need to be at any given point during the day, this makes it all so easy to see at a glance what will be coming up next, so you can prepare yourself mentally for the challenges you will be facing. It works for me when I allow at least 15 minutes break between meetings whenever I can, because even this short time provides me with the opportunity to gather my thoughts, collect questions, think about what I want out of that specific meeting and make a quick plan. Find 3 Methods that successful women follow to keep their career on track.

Being dedicated to achieving your goals.

Make sure you are dedicated to the goal you are trying to achieve or you will not succeed. Goals are difficult to accomplish if you aren’t serious about them. Dedication prevents backsliding and helps you to move forward and succeed at your goals. Also, gives you the focus that helps improve your self-discipline.

Setting different levels of goals will also assist you in reaching your end goal. Set not more than four long-term goals and break them down into short term ones. As you meet each short-term goal it will help keep you motivated to move forward and you will find yourself on a path of achieving and passing milestones leading to the achievement of your long-term goal. This way the short-term goals will become stepping stones to achieve the higher goal you set for yourself.

Use Positive affirmations.

Positive affirmations strengthen self-control by helping you focus on the optimistic side of a situation instead of the negative. That helps to prevent immediate impulses and unnecessary stressors. Every day you can start out by telling yourself that you are strong, confident and capable. These steps will boost your confidence and improve your self-discipline. It may sound a bit silly first, but after a couple of days you will experience that you will in fact feel more capable and confident.

Start everyday visualizing how you want that day to go.

You want to visualise the long-term rewards that come from success. Also, you can visualise your end goal, and how exactly you plan to get to that end goal. Visualisation helps you organize your thoughts and see the big picture. You can use visualisation to come up with a strategy to meet your goals. 5 Ways you can use relaxation and visualisation to help advance your career.

Give yourself a little reward after doing a good job.

Positive reinforcement is a great way to motivate anyone to get things done. Try to motivate yourself with small rewards for achieving your goals. The small rewards along the way will help keep things positive and make you want to keep going instead of giving up when it gets difficult.

Feel gratitude.

Being grateful for what we already have is something we may forget doing in the midst of the busy weekdays. Some of us concentrate on what we haven’t achieved yet, which is unhelpful to say the least when it comes to keep up motivation levels. Spending time thinking about what you don’t have may lead to action once the dissatisfaction reached a certain level and the situation becomes unbearable, otherwise it will be another way to feel sorry for yourself.

Don’t let mistakes cause you to quit.

Everyone makes mistakes. While climbing that mountain of success you are bound to slip up from time to time. What you need to keep in mind is just to keep moving forward don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. If you allow your mistakes to discourage you and make you quit then you will never achieve your goals. Keep in mind that Einstein failed thousands of times while working on his theories and that didn’t stop him from becoming a famous scientist. Thomas Edison destroyed his house while inventing the lightbulb.  As you can see mistakes can actually lead you in the right direction.

Acknowledge your weaknesses.

Most of us like to focus only on our positive attributes. This is a great thing to do most of the time, but in order to become a stronger individual it is also important to acknowledge your weaknesses so you can work to strengthen them. Most people ignore their weaknesses or they minimize the negative impact that these can have on their lives. If you admit your weaknesses, you can do things to help reinforce your areas of weakness so you can improve on them and become a stronger person.

Conclusion.

In conclusion self-discipline plays an important role in success. To achieve your goals, you must have a stable sense of self-discipline. Self-discipline requires a lot of structure and planning. Keeping a steady routine is the easiest way to maintain self-discipline. You must not forget; however, to stay dedicated to your goals and follow through with them. Make positive affirmations daily and visualize how you want your day to go.  Have good friends around you to keep you motivated and don’t forget to reward yourself when you are successful! Remember to meditate every day to clear your mind. Above all, learn from your mistakes and accept your weaknesses. With these simple steps, you can improve your self-discipline that help you achieve your goals, reach your dreams and make a happier and less chaotic life even if you have to face multi tasking.

Throughout life, you are forced to deal with various individuals that have different personality types. Because human beings require social interactions to survive, an understanding of different personality types is crucial, not only from an academic stance but also from a life point of view.

The better we understand how other people act and think, the better we understand ourselves. This understanding gives you the power to try possible to succeed. Understanding different personality types is about using the knowledge you gain to your benefit in day− to− day situations, to get people to do things or to influence them, to get others to assist whenever they can and to get your points across. Additionally, it helps to shape the way you make your decisions and, most importantly, understanding personality types helps you understand and manage how your actions can impact other people.

At the same time, understanding the personality types of people you interact with can help you expect their actions and behaviour better, and it will further give you valuable insights into that person’s personality traits. Here are different personality types that can help you be more successful:

ISTJ

People that have the ISTJ introvert personality types are easy to depend on because it devotes them. Typically, people with ISTJ approach things in a logical way and they are extremely well− organized to enable them to operate efficiently. Individuals with ISTJ personality are methodical, and they store the knowledge they gain from past experiences which is then used to face new problems and ideas.

When associating with people with ISTJ personality at the workplace, such individuals are the stereotype for the devoted and always impressive employee. In all positions, whether subordinate or managerial, an ISTJ personality will conform to structure and will be a stickler for the rules because they respect authority and a chain of command.  When you give a person with ISTJ personality a task, in most cases, they see it as an opening to prove to you that, yet again, they are the right person for the job.

On the flip side, ISTJ introvert personality types struggle with change, whether it is assuming new responsibilities or losing old ones. When interacting with an ISTJ, you should be very precise about what you expect from them in a straightforward manner; do not waste time to beat around the bush or spending valuable time in small talk.

ISTP

ISTPs are classically quiet, observant, and they enjoy tasks that allow the use of their hands. They enjoy examining the world with an unruffled rationalism and energetic inquisitiveness. People with ISTP love to build things and are often involved in different projects that permit them to take things apart only to assemble them again. As such, most engineers and mechanics fall under this category.

Most people with ISTP are cheerful and kind-hearted, preferring to go with the flow rather than get stressed out by a schedule. ISTPs also combine spontaneity with logic, and they can change their mindset to accommodate new situations easily. Because of this, they are great to have in a crisis because they think on their feet.

On the other hand, as easy as it is for them to go with the flow, ISTP people are stubborn, and they can change plans on you quickly and insensitively. Additionally, people with ISTP are difficult to get to know and can be very reserved and private.

ISFJ people are not quick to leave things half finished. Instead, they are meticulous and are flexible to accommodate the needs of a changing situation, just so they can ensure that the goal is accomplished. ISFJs are also inventive, and they use this quality to empathize with others, which makes it easy to see things from other people’s perspectives.

Despite their willingness to help, ISFJ personalities are shy and, since they tend to focus on the well− being of others, they might also ignore their needs and repress their feelings. Their willingness to immerse themselves in their work also means that they have trouble separating personal and impersonal issues. Any arising conflict affects their personal and professional lives in equal measure.

ISFP

ISFP introvert personality types are true observers of life, and they use what they observe to create and design things. For ISFPs, respect for harmony and morals is important, which is why they are dependable particularly once it estabilishes trust.

ISFP personalities are colorful, and they live in a world characterized by unpredictability, exploration, and experiments. Despite their unique perspective on life, ISFPs are notoriously introverted and very emotional. When it appears as though a situation has gotten out of hand, they are more likely to shut down than step up to the plate.

ISFPs can also escalate small issues and blow them out of proportion, which can cause them to ignore the bigger picture in exchange for a moment of glory. However, beneath the competition, ISFPs are very passionate people and, in friendship, they are some of the most comfortable and carefree people to hang out with.

At work, ISFP people are fiercely independent and they hate to be controlled and micromanaged. In this regard, when working with people with ISFP, you should give them positions that allow them to be expressive, independent and spontaneous. Check these 11 Top Jobs for Introverts.
